The Company:
The menus are created in the endeavour of sustainable and whole-cycle cooking with the intent of maximising healthiness without sacrificing flavour. Our client ferment, pickle, smoke, dry and make everything we possibly can in house. Maximising by-product usage and encouraging creativity and exploration of new ideas.
Vacancy Description:

  • To help to create and prepare menus in relation to café standards
  • To ensure recipes are being used accurately and consistently always.
  • To ensure all equipment is operated in a safe manner,
  • To taste and evaluate food before serving to ensure standards are met.
  • To have a full understanding of all dishes on the menu and how each dish is prepared and presented.
  • To make sure presentation is of a consistently high standard 
  • To ensure the safe and proper storage and stock rotation of all food.
  • To assist in ordering of products for the kitchen team 
  • To work as a team member to maintain a pleasant work environment.
  • To treat others with professional respect.
  • To never compromise, under any circumstances, the quality of raw product used.
  • To follow safe food handling guidelines as per Environmental Health Standards and ensure kitchen is cleaned and sanitised according to cleaning schedules and procedures.
  • To be available & flexible to work 

About you:


  • Adequate prior experience in professional kitchens at a similar level.
  • An ability to both assist in leading and working well within a team.
  • To take constructive critique with a positive attitude and willingness to improve.
  • Strong and effective communication skills
  • A ‘can do’ attitude and ability to multi-task.
  • A sound base knowledge of different cooking techniques and ingredients.
  • Good personal presentation and compliance with company uniform policy.
  • A desire to further ones skill-set and always strive to improve.
  • An ability to maintain a clean section, uphold standards and always work safely and efficiently.
