With new and ongoing investment this popular Hotel operation now has an exciting opportunity for a skilled Head Chef to take over the management of the kitchen department. You will come from minimum 3/4 * hotel background and have a passion for cooking with fresh food working with great local suppliers, , this is an operational role and your culinary organisational skills are key. This role represents a fabulous lifestyle opportunity for a relocation to Guernsey in a stunning beach side location Hotel facilities ,100 rooms offering breakfast and dinner half board option , busy bar area, Conference and banqueting facilities, The new investors are looking to expand and invest in the operation into the extensive surrounding land so represents an exciting progression opportunity . Would suit a chef who loves to work with seafood due to the great local supplies of fresh fish Could also suit couple , as potential roles also available in front of house
Vacancy Description:

  • Responsible for the supervision and management of the kitchen team
  • Developing the hotels food menu’s and driving the operations of the business
  • Working closely with the GM
  • Implementing stock and wastage control
  • Financial responsibilities including menu costing ,wage budgeting and profit and loss forecasting
  • Recruitment responsibilities
  • Completion of weekly and monthly reports
  • Becoming an integral part of the successful operation of the business
  • Maintaining an excellent level of attention to detail during busy service periods
  • Consistently maintaining an excellent level of communication with all other departments
About you:

  • Will have at least 3 years’ experience as a Head Chef within a quality 3 / 4 Star hotel operation
  • A skilled head chef working  with fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
  • The ability to remain calm and professional when the going gets tough is an absolute must!
  • Will be an instinctively strong leader with the ability to motivate, train and develop your staff
  • Will be highly organised
  • Will demonstrate a good sense of ownership
  • Will demonstrate a flexible and positive approach to work with a savvy and energetic personality
  • Will be proficient in implementing Health and Safety procedures
  • Good IT and administration skills are desired
  • The ideal candidate will have previous banqueting experience for up to 100 guests
Salary & Benefits:
£40 k per annum , accommodation offered
